Top Barn Training is a unique training centre specialising in delivery of land-based skills
such as:

* rural skills * farmhouse cooking *
* alternative building * |
Many of the courses offered by Top Barn Training are specially designed for adults with disabilities and for young people
who find the challenges of schooling difficult.
Other courses are however, on offer for the local community for anyone
who is interested in rural skills and a sustainable lifestyle. |

| Outdoor Activities |
Top Barn Training is located on a beautiful farm along the banks of the River Severn in Worcestershire
called, Top Barn Farm. Top Barn Farm is a an active farm producing several
crops as well as livestock husbandry. Students of Top Barn Training have access to these facilities including the farm shop, which sells their
produce. In addition to all this, the centre itself has its own mini farmyard
with livestock, poultry and crop rearing.

Horticulture
Students will learn to grow fruit and vegetables and then harvest and pack
them to sell in the farm shop. |
Farm Animals
Top Barn Training has pigs, poultry and goats at its centre. This, together with access
to cattle and sheep on the main farm, creates an excellent opportunityfor studentsto |

| work with the animals, feeding, exercising and caring for
them as well as helping with lambing during the lambing season. |

| Indoor Activities |
A new 1000 sq foot, purpose built pine kitchen has been erected at the
Top Barn Training centre, featuring both a well equipped industry standard cooking facility
and an eating area where students enjoy the fruit of their labour.

Catering
Using all self grown ingredients, students enjoy cooking and jam making
in their well equipped kitchen. |
They prepare jams, chutneys and breads to sell in the farm shop.

Top Barn Training works with Worcestershire Social Services, Pupil Referral Units local
colleges and schools to provide training, education and therapeutic opportunities for all, particularly

The purpose built pine building contains a well-equipped training kitchen
and an eating area. New courses include ‘Plot to Plate’ series that will
include how to grow fruit and vegetables and then turn them into tasty
meals and preserves.
